Innovation Consultant Life Sciences and Health

How did you end up at Catalyze and what do you do in your daily work?
Science has always fascinated me. During my studies in Biomedical Sciences and an internship at a medical start-up, I became increasingly curious about what happens beyond the research itself: how does a good idea actually make its way out of the lab and into people’s lives, and ultimately contribute to a healthier and more sustainable world?

After finishing a two-year healthcare management traineeship, a friend from my studies who worked at Catalyze told me about the company, and it immediately felt like a good fit. Today I work as an innovation consultant, working with start-ups, scale-ups and research institutions to turn good ideas into strong projects and secure funding that helps move their innovations forward.

How do you make an impact for your clients in your daily work?
We’re living in a time of rapid technological progress, while healthcare systems and society face major sustainability challenges. Many of the innovators we work with are developing solutions to address these, but navigating the national and European funding landscape can be complex.

Our role is to think along with them – asking the right questions, translating their vision into a clear strategy or project proposal that attracts funding, and identifying the right partners to strengthen collaborations. I find it meaningful to contribute to moving these innovations forward.

Can you describe what you like about your team, your colleagues, the collaboration within Catalyze, and the company culture?
One of the things I enjoy is the mix of people within the company. My colleagues come from different backgrounds, both professionally and personally, which makes collaboration interesting. There’s a strong culture of sharing knowledge and supporting each other. And of course, we also take time to catch up and have some fun, whether over coffee or during a borrel after work.

What would you like to say to your future colleagues?
Since joining Catalyze, I’ve experienced that good ideas and innovation grow through collaboration, asking critical questions, thinking creatively and building on different perspectives. If you enjoy that way of working and like learning quickly in an open environment, you’ll likely feel at home here.
