How did you end up at Catalyze and what do you do?
I made the transition from academia to Catalyze driven by an idea to assist scientists in securing research funding. As an Innovation Consultant at Catalyze, I merge my academic expertise with Catalyze’s mission to bring innovations to life. In this role, I cultivate collaboration for concept building and support scientists to position their research projects for successful funding.
Can you describe how you make an impact for your clients in your daily work?
My impact on clients stems from my role as consultant, primarily engaging with life science scientists in academic and industry settings. I adapt to diverse roles based on individual client needs, providing support such as consortium building, crafting and reviewing research proposals, and conducting gap analysis to bolster research strategies. Ultimately, my goal is to support scientists in their journey to translate their innovations into impactful societal solutions through persuasive grant proposals and business plans.
Can you describe what you like about your team, your colleagues, the collaboration within and the culture of Catalyze?
I appreciate the diverse backgrounds of colleagues at Catalyze, encompassing biomedical science, life science business, strategy and project management. This diverse mix offers opportunities for mutual learning and enhances teamwork. The youthful and cheerful spirit also keeps the work atmosphere lively and fun.
What would you like to say to your future colleagues?
To my future colleagues, sometimes there is ambiguity surrounding the role “Consultant,” but that’s also its strength—it offers possibilities to explore diverse niches aligned with your interests. If your inclination revolves around life science innovation, don’t hesitate to connect.
