Your Role as a Business Developer
As a Business Developer in the Green & Sustainable Innovations team, you’ll play a crucial role in advancing the success of cutting-edge projects. This role is ideal for a driven, entrepreneurial sales professional with a strong affinity for green technologies and sustainability. Here’s what you’ll do:
- Expand and Nurture Client Networks: Build relationships with innovative companies, academic leaders, and industry pioneers in fields like energy transition, biobased industries, and sustainable food systems.
- Identify High-Impact Opportunities: Develop and manage a pipeline of leads, identifying the most promising projects that align with our mission to create a greener, more sustainable future.
- Provide Tailored Strategic Solutions: Collaborate with clients to evaluate their projects, prioritize their needs, and design customized solutions focused on securing funding.
- Offer Expert Support on Funding Applications: Leverage Catalyze’s renowned expertise to assist clients in navigating complex (grant) funding landscapes, preparing strong applications, and increasing their chances of securing vital resources for their innovations.
- Close Deals and Foster Long-Term Relationships: Negotiate contracts, close partnerships, and act as a trusted advisor to clients throughout their journey.
- Be a Catalyst for Innovation: Help clients overcome challenges and unlock the potential of their groundbreaking ideas, ensuring they can transition from the lab to market successfully.

- Experience: 3-5 years of proven sales success, preferably in technology, innovation, or sustainability-related sectors.
- Education: A Master’s degree in Life Sciences, Engineering, or a related field.
- Sector Knowledge: Good understanding of green and deep-tech sectors, including energy transition, biobased industries, and sustainable FoodTech.
- Skills: Exceptional communication, networking, and negotiation abilities, with the capacity to build rapport with diverse stakeholders.
- Mindset: An entrepreneurial spirit, resilience, and a passion for driving success in fast-paced, high-impact environments.

This is a dynamic position requiring persistence, adaptability, and creativity. You will:
- Engage in high-volume prospecting to build a robust network of clients and opportunities.
