innovation consultant – life sciences & health
(calling applicants with both spanish & english language skills. living in, or willing to move to barcelona & experienced grant writers)as an innovation consultant, you work closely with our clients to transform their innovative ideas into projects and set-up valuable partnerships. you take a leading role in conceptualizing and co-developing their project plan, development pathway and commercialization strategy. you act as the trusted guide and critical partner of our clients to lead them towards success. you will report to the managing consultant and have the opportunity to grow into a managing consultant or senior consultant position.
responsibilities
independently developing project proposals for our clients
coordinate and manage the project application process with client and (large) stakeholder groups.
writing project proposals, business cases and business plans for clients.
accompany country manager / business developers to client meetings to close the deals.
providing strategic advice on the positioning of projects towards funding agencies.
actively thinking with clients about business, commercialization and/or development strategies and positioning of their innovations and technologies.
performing market research and desk research within the diverse fields of our clients.
bringing together companies, universities, and research institutes to establish long-term partnerships.
actively follow new developments and innovations in the industry and contribute to strengthen our expertise.
guiding and coaching of fellow team members.
establish and maintain long-term client relationships and identify and act on new funding opportunities for our established clients.
qualifications
passion for life science & health innovations, experience is preferred.
a relevant master’s degree, preferably with a life science & health and/or business focus.
substantial experience (3+ years) in grant writing such as eic accelerators, writing strategic plans or business plans, science communication, or in managing and coordinating large projects.
at least 3 years of work experience in a commercial environment, preferably in a supporting role to business development teams in a consulting/advisory firm.
demonstrable insights into the development of life science & health innovations, from ideation to commercialization.
strong understanding of the local spanish grants/loans such as neotec, retos colaboracion, enisa loans, torres quevedo, r&d nuclis accio.
proven track record in writing and securing local spanish grants, including knowledge of the application process, timelines and guidelines.
ideally, the candidate will be located within commuting distance of the catalyze spain office sarria-sant gervasi, barcelona.
